
The Jr. PCT is an invitational point’s race made up of up to 30 junior male cyclists, age 18 and under scheduled to take place during the Philadelphia International Championship on June 6, 2010.
Course:
Benjamin Franklin Parkway – 3 ½ Laps between Eakins Oval and Logan Circle , using the Philadelphia International Start/Finish area.
Total race distance: 6.5 miles
Time:
The event will take place after the finish of the women’s race and approximately on lap-6 of the men’s event while the pros are out on the course.
Points Race Format:
Sprint every lap except the first ½ lap. Points are scored 5 deep.
Mandatory Rider Check in: Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. 22nd & The Benjamin Franklin Parkway .
Qualifier Races
The 2010 Jr PCT. qualifying races this year are Lower Providence Criterium (4/18), the Pocono Raceway Mothers Day (May 9); South Abington Road Race (May 29) and the 2010 Amateur Time Trials in Philadelphia (6/5).
The selection criteria are the top most consistent 10 racers from the 15-16 and 17-18 categories will be invited to attend the Jr PCT event during the big Philadelphia Pro Race. If these 20 racers aren't able to attend, we will invite deeper into the pool.
Consistency will be measured on points at these 3 races with a 20 points for first and descending to 1 point for 20th place for both categories (15-16; 17-18 boys).
The racers with the most points after the 4 races are eligible. Total number of racers at the Jr PCT is expected to be 20-30 boys.
